Located in downtown Kingsport, Bays Mountains Brewing Company is one of the best breweries in Kingsport.

This craft brewery is named after the beautiful Bays Mountain (one of our recommendations for the best things to do in Kingsport).

From banana-y hefeweizens to hoppy pale ales, IPAs, stouts, and more — Bays Mountain Brewery has crafted it.

A couple of our favorites include the Blueberry Wheat and Barney’s Brown Ale. If you can’t decide on one, try one of their craft beer flights!

Look for the fermenters by the bar where you’ll see yeast hard at work, making a batch of the next beer on tap.

If you decide you want to visit Bays Mountain Brewery often, consider joining the Mug Club — an annual membership with many perks & benefits including a personalized mug for each visit.

2. Gypsy Circus Cider Company

Gypsy Circus Cider Company makes some of the best ciders and meads to be found in Tennessee, making it a must-stop when visiting Kingsport or Knoxville.

Even if you’re not into drinking ciders or meads, we guarantee you’ll still find something on the menu you like. They have sweet to dry ciders, and everything in between.

And if you like spicy, they even have a Jalapeńo cider that you may like.

Flanagan Brothers is the newest craft brewery in Kingsport, TN! Opened in June 2023, Flanagan Brothers merged an Irish brewery and taproom.

All beers are brewed in-house with rotating selections. Some examples on the menu include a cream ale, NEIPA, saison, and a milk stout to name a few.

They also have an elite membership program called the Grúdlann Club, which if joined, will gift you with benefits such as a 20oz pours, a free t-shirt, 1/2 price beers on your birthday, merch discounts, and an exclusive member-only Christmas party.

Happy Hour is from 2-5pm on weekdays (perfect for an after-work drink) and from 12-3pm on weekends. Live music is played on weekends with local artists, as well as Mondays and Thursdays.

High Voltage is a tap house and event space in downtown Kingsport where you can find a decent selection of beer on tap, axe throwing from King’s Sport Axe House, as well as a great outdoor area.

Another great tap house in downtown Kingsport will be the Model City Tap House.

Providing over 20 taps to choose from as well as great food, events, and games such as corn hole and darts. Happy Hour is every weekday from 2-6pm.

Guests rave about their steamed sub sandwiches and nachos! We haven’t had the chance to try them ourselves yet but we hope to soon.
